Chambertin impressed as a young showjumper with victories in classes up to German M level. With Jörg Naeve, he won qualifying classes for the Bundeschampionat and became Holstein champion in 1999. An injury brought his sporting career to an early end, but he went on to achieve international significance as a sire. His best-known son, Chacco-Blue, became one of the world’s most influential showjumping stallions. Olympic team gold medallist Cedric, World Cup competitor Chalan and international showjumpers such as Cobos, Can Do and Cazaro further demonstrated his quality as a sire. This son of Cambridge out of a Cor de la Bryère mare passed on scope, carefulness, elasticity and excellent jumping technique.
